John Fraser, 62, Killed in Maserati Crash in Del Mar

At least one person sustained injuries on Monday, October 23 following a van collision on Interstate 210 outside of Baldwin Park, California.

Del Mar, CA (June 20, 2024) A woman is facing felony charges after a crash killed the passenger in her car.

Late last night, just before 12 a.m., a deadly crash occurred in the 2000 block of Coast Boulevard. A woman driving a 2019 Maserati Gran Turismo left the road, hit a parked car, then crashed into a tree. She was driving north at the time of the crash.

North Coastal Sheriffs report that the driver, Elizabeth Brooks, fled the scene. Somehow, they were able to find and arrest her. She was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla to treat her injuries from the crash.

The passenger in her car, however, wasn’t so lucky. Deputies found him–a 62-year-old named John Fraser who hailed from Solana Beach–in his seat in the Maserati. He was rushed to the hospital, but the man tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Thankfully, no one was inside the parked car that Brooks hit.

The driver of the Turismo will be booked at Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility on charges of felony hit-and-run, DUI, and vehicular manslaughter.
