Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash On Highway 14 In Bakersfield

1 Injured in Tustin crash on I-5 in Orange County.

Bakersfield, California (February 19, 2024) A two-vehicle collision on Highway 14 claimed a man’s life on Friday, February 16th, the California Highway Patrol reported. The fatal accident occurred in Mojave just after 3:30 p.m.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2018 Mitsubishi sedan was heading south on Highway 14 and attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot of Statler Brothers. As the vehicle turned, an Infiniti was heading north on the highway and slammed into the turning Mitsubishi, officers said.

53-year-old Sherry Marie Adams, a Lancaster resident, was driving the Mitsubishi while the Infinit was driven by 53-year-old Nathan Reyes, a California City resident. An 84-year-old man was sitting in the passenger seat of the Mitsubishi. Officers reported that the man wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was killed in the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

Officers at the scene said they do not believe impairment was a factor in this accident. The California Highway Patrol Mojave Division is investigating this collision and is determined to discover what led to this fatal crash.
