Beaumont, CA (March 13, 2024) A 4-vehicle collision on Highway 79 in Beaumont left one man with serious injuries, officers said. It all happened around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12th, not far from the Lamb Canyon Landfill, south of Lamb Canyon Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the multi-vehicle crash “appeared to be a head-on collision.” They also said that it seemed as if the accident started because of road rage. Initial reports indicated that a red Ford F-150 pickup truck, a white Ford F-150 pickup truck and a black Toyota Corolla were all driving north on Highway 79. At the same time, a gray Toyota Camry was heading south on Highway 79 and swerved into the northbound lanes.
The Camry hit the three northbound vehicles, head-on, according to the California Highway Patrol. The California Department of Fire sent paramedics to the scene to assist anyone with injuries. They found one man with serious injuries who was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance. Another person sustained minor injuries, but was treated at the scene, officers said.
Police officers had to request tow trucks to come to the scene and remove at least three of the damaged vehicles. Also, investigators are working diligently to determine what caused the Toyota Camry to end up in the northbound lanes.
