Charles Patrick La Fortune, 78, Killed In Santa Rosa Crash

A motorcyclist and a pedestrian both lost their lives in a Ventura County crash.

Santa Rosa, CA (August 30, 2024) A devastating collision involving twelve vehicles occurred in Santa Rosa on Tuesday morning, August 29. Reports indicated that several people were injured in this accident. It happened on Highway 12 between Stony Point Road and Fulton Road.

CHP and Santa Rosa Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at about 11:52 a.m. They learned a dump truck had rear-ended traffic that was stopped at the intersection. The dump truck hit a Toyota pickup that burst into flames and was pushed into multiple vehicles. There was one occupant in the Toyota Tacoma who tragically passed away from his injuries.

Paramedics with the Santa Rosa Fire Department reported that they found several injured victims who were taken to the hospital.

Update (9/11): After a process that took longer than usual due to the severity of the injuries, the Sonoma County Coroner identified the victim as Charles Patrick La Fortune, 78, of Sebastopol.
