Multi-Vehicle Collision On Palm Drive In Desert Hot Springs; 2 Injured

Two-vehicle collision on Highway 154 in Santa Barbara Leaves 3 injured.

Desert Hot Springs, CA (October 11, 2024) A collision involving multiple vehicles occurred on Tuesday evening, October 8th, 2024, leaving two people with injuries. The collision occurred on Palm Drive, not too far from 20th Avenue, just before 6:00 p.m.

It was mere minutes before 6 o’clock in Desert Hot Springs on Tuesday evening, October 11th, 2024, as vehicles traveled along Palm Drive. For reasons that remain unknown, several vehicles collided, causing major traffic issues. Dispatchers began receiving 911 calls and, at approximately 5:58 p.m., Cal Fire received the call.

They arrived at the scene and found the damaged vehicles blocking the roadway. They checked the vehicles and found one person trapped inside one of the vehicles. Firefighters used special tools to free the person, reports indicated. The victim was quickly placed on a stretcher and paramedics transported them to a nearby hospital. Officers reported that one other person was found with injuries and was also taken to a hospital to receive treatment.

Officers took statements at the scene and gathered evidence before tow trucks removed the vehicles from the roadway. Crews worked to remove the glass and debris from the roadway, allowing traffic to resume normally. Officers are still not sure what caused this accident in Desert Hot Springs, but they continue to investigate. They are determined to figure out what exactly caused this collision, as well as which vehicle was responsible.
