Gaviota, CA (October 21, 2024) A fiery collision involving several vehicles occurred on Sunday night, October 20th, 2024, leaving one person with injuries. The accident took place on Highway 101 along the Gaviota Coast around 9:00 p.m., according to reports.

911 called began pouring into dispatch about a fiery collision that involved several vehicles on Sunday night. The American Medical Response, Santa Barbara County Fire Department, and the California Highway Patrol all rushed to the scene. They found five vehicles with major damage. One of the vehicles was on fire, prompting firefighters to step into action. They immediately extinguished the flames and authorities began checking for anyone in need of medical attention.

Officers had to close one southbound lane and one northbound lane of Highway 101. The collision caused significant delays in the area, according to reports. Officers found one adult woman who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the accident. She was transported, via ambulance, to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital to receive treatment.
