Grass Valley, CA (October 30, 2024) One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision on State Route 20 in Grass Valley on Monday, October 28th. The accident occurred near South Ponderosa Way and debris from the crash caused traffic issues in the area, reports indicated.
Two pickup trucks, one a Ford and the other a Toyota, were heading along State Route 20 in Grass Valley on Monday. For reasons that remain a mystery, the two pickups collided near South Ponderosa Way. The impact sent one of the vehicles into a ditch and debris covered a portion of the highway, leading to traffic issues.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the highway covered in debris. One pickup was in the ditch with major damage and the other was on the side of the roadway, also badly damaged. They hurried to the vehicles, prepared to administer life-saving treatment and found one person with significant injuries. Paramedics at the scene took the injured person to a local hospital to receive treatment for undisclosed injuries.
Following the investigation at the scene, tow trucks removed both of the damaged pickups from the highway. Crews worked as quickly as they could to clean up the debris that littered the roadway. Officers continue to work this case in an effort to piece together what happened on SR-20 that day. They are also determined to figure out who was responsible for this collision.
