San Jose, CA (July 6, 2024) One person was injured on July 3rd when several vehicles collided on Interstate 880 in San Jose. Officers reported that the injury accident occurred around 8:30 a.m., not far from the East Brokaw Road off-ramp. The accident involved at least four vehicles, according to reports.
A chain-reaction crash took place on Wednesday, July 3rd, on Interstate 880, officers reported. A gray Chrysler Pacifica SUV, a gray Nissan Pathfinder SUV, a silver Mazda 3 and a silver Kia Nero were all involved in the collision. Officers reported that the accident occurred in the No. 1 lane of the interstate. The Kia sustained major front-end damage from rear-ending one of the other vehicles. The Mazda had read-end damage as well as front-end damage where it had rear-ended a vehicle and then was rear-ended by another vehicle, officers said.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene on southbound Interstate 880 and found the four vehicles in the middle of the interstate, all with major damage. Paramedics hurried to the vehicles, ready to give aid to anyone in need. They found one person with non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports.
Investigators began working the scene, collecting evidence and taking statements, in an attempt to understand what caused this chain-reaction accident. Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove all four of the vehicles from the interstate. Crews worked for hours to clear the roadway of glass and debris from the collision.
