Officers were dispatched to the intersection of I Street and Watt Avenue just after 3:00 p.m., according to reports.
The Sacramento County collision occurred for reasons that remain unknown. Two vehicles collided at the intersection of I Street and Watt Avenue, leaving one person with serious injuries and causing traffic issues in the area.
The California Highway Patrol was the first to arrive at the scene. They found the two damaged vehicles in the middle of the intersection sitting in a field of debris. They hurried to the vehicles to see if anyone inside had sustained injuries in the accident. They found one person with serious injuries, reports indicated, and requested an ambulance at the scene. The victim was rushed to a local hospital to receive treatment for unknown injuries.
Detectives gathered evidence at the scene and took statements before crews began clearing the intersection of debris. Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the intersection.
