Berkeley, CA (October 26, 2023) – A local man was tragically killed on Tuesday, October 24th, after he was struck by an Amtrak train in Berkeley, California. The accident occurred around 9:15 a.m. at tracks near Gilman street.
The man, reported to be in his 40s was crossing the tracks when the Amtrak Capitol Corridor Train passed, colliding with him and causing severe injuries. The train, which was empty of passengers at the time of the crash, was delayed for several hours while an investigation into the incident was conducted.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau has not yet disclosed the victim’s identity.
Strangely, this is the second similar incident to occur in Berkeley this month. Police are continuing their investigation into the pedestrian accident with the Amtrak train in Berkeley.
