Garden Grove, CA (November 20, 2023) – A pedestrian tragically passed away on Tuesday, November 14th, after a car accident on Valley View Street in Garden Grove, California. According to the Garden Grove Police Department, the accident took place around 10:26 p.m. in the 11800 block just north of Chapman Avenue.
The victim, a 59 year old woman from Garden Grove believed to be homeless, was walking down the street when a passing vehicle struck her from behind for unknown cause. She was thrown into the roadway where she was unresponsive.

The Orange County Fire Authority dispatched paramedics to the scene to treat the woman, who had sustained severe injuries. Sadly, despite their best efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released at this time.
The driver, a 28 year old woman from Anaheim, did stop to call 911 and cooperate with authorities. Police are investigating this car accident on Valley View Street including whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
