Buena Park, CA (August 5, 2024) A Buena Park police officer sustained injuries in a collision on Monday morning, August 5th. The collision occurred in what some might consider the middle of the night, just before 2:00 a.m., according to reports. Sgt. Kevin Gano told City News Service that it all happened at the intersection of Naomi Avenue and Knott Avenue.
It was just before 2:00 a.m. as an officer with the Buena Park police department approached an intersection in Buena Park. The patrol vehicle headed south on Knott Avenue as another vehicle approached the intersection from the west on Naomi Avenue, according to reports. As they both approached the intersection in the darkness of early morning, the civilian vehicle ran the stop sign. At approximately 1:49 a.m., the two vehicles collided at the intersection, reports indicated.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the police officer with significant injuries. Paramedics arrived and quickly transported the injured police officer to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. At this time, it is unknown if the civilian sustained injuries in this two-vehicle collision. Officers gathered evidence at the scene and are determined to figure out what exactly happened at that Buena Park intersection.
