SACRAMENTO, CA (AUGUST 19, 2023): 31-year-old Sergio Roberto Rojas was fatally struck by an SUV while walking his dog early Friday morning.

At around 3 a.m., Rojas was with his dog and a shopping cart in the bicycle lane on Calvine Road when a 2015 Toyota Rav 4 struck him.
The impact of the crash thrusted Rojas onto the road. The driver of the Toyota, a 42-year-old woman, remained at the scene and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
