Sacramento, CA (August 21, 2024) A multi-vehicle collision in West Sacramento left three people with injuries, according to reports. The collision took place on Monday morning, August 19th, right around 5:30 a.m. The vehicles collided on the 80 Freeway, not far from Enterprise Boulevard, according to reports.
Reports indicated that at least six vehicles were involved in the collision. Officers are still not certain what caused the accident on Interstate 80. However, the six-vehicle collision caused traffic issues in the area on that early morning on August 19th. The sun had yet to rise as the six damaged vehicles sat in the middle of the freeway.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the six damaged vehicles in the middle of the eastbound freeway. They quickly checked the vehicles, ready to help anyone in need of medical attention. They found three people with serious injuries and transported them to a local hospital, via ambulance, to receive emergency medical attention. The extent of injuries has not been disclosed, reports indicated.

Officers began directing traffic away from the scene and detectives gathered information and are working to determine what happened that morning. They are diligently working to not only determine what caused this six-vehicle collision on the 80 Freeway in Sacramento, but also to determine who was at fault. Tow trucks were requested to come to the scene and remove several of the damaged vehicles from the freeway. It took crews hours to clean up the glass and debris that had been left behind.
