Berkeley Hills, CA (October 9, 2024) A two-vehicle collision in Berkeley Hills sent two people to the hospital on Saturday afternoon, October 5th. The Alameda County accident took place at Marin Circle around 12:45 p.m.
Initial reports suggest that a 73-year-old driver lost control of their vehicle while driving down Marin Avenue. The vehicle barely missed the fountain at Marin Circle and hit another vehicle and several bollards before finally coming to a stop on its side.
The Berkeley Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the 73-year-old man trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters used special tools to free the man, who was then rushed to Highland Hospital, via ambulance. The driver of the other vehicle, identified only as a 41-year-old, was also taken to a Highland Hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.
The investigation into this collision is ongoing, as officers work to uncover what exactly happened to cause the driver to lose control. Tow trucks were called to remove the vehicles from the scene and crews began cleaning up the debris and glass that was left behind.
