Santa Ynez, CA (August 3, 2024) An early morning collision in Santa Barbara County on Sunday, July 28th, left two people injured. It happened at approximately 5:22 a.m. in Santa Ynez at the intersection of N. Refugio Road and Samantha Drive. The two-vehicle collision caused officers to close the road for a while, according to reports.
It was 5:22 a.m. as two vehicles approached an intersection in Santa Ynez. A gray SUV and a four-door sedan arrived at the intersection at the same time. For reasons that are still unknown, the two vehicles collided at the intersection, according to reports.
Santa Barbara County Firefighters and the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the two damaged vehicles stopped at the intersection. Debris littered the roadway in every direction and officers had to close the road. Paramedics hurried to the vehicles, ready to give medical attention to anyone in need. They found the drivers of both vehicles with injuries, officers reported. Both were loaded into an ambulance and taken to Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officer requested tow trucks at the scene to remove the badly damaged vehicles.
