Arcata, CA (July 12, 2024) A two-vehicle collision in Arcata on Wednesday, July 10th, left two people with serious injuries. The accident took place at the intersection of 6th Street and K Street right around 5:45 p.m., according to reports. The collision left one of the vehicles on its roof, officers said.
It was Wednesday evening in the California town of Arcata as vehicles moved along streets and roads at a steady pace. At the intersection of 6th Street and K Street, however, two vehicles suddenly collided around 5:44 p.m. Officers are still not certain what led to this two-vehicle crash, but they do know that it left two people with moderate to serious injuries. One of the vehicles involved overturned during the accident, stopping on its roof.
The Arcata Police Department arrived at the scene within minutes and found the two damaged vehicles, one of which was on its roof. They made their way to the two vehicles to see if anyone inside had been injured in the accident. They found one person inside the overturned vehicle with serious injuries. Another person inside the upright vehicle was found with moderate injuries, according to reports. Paramedics at the scene rushed the seriously injured person to a local hospital to receive emergency treatment. The other injured person was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, officers reported.
The Arcata Police Department is heading the investigation into this collision. They are working diligently to determine what exactly happened to cause this two-vehicle crash, as well as who was at fault. A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the overturned vehicle and debris and glass that littered the scene had to be cleaned up as well.
