Several Injured in Las Vegas collision on N Pecos Rd.

Las Vegas, NV (July 5, 2024) A tragic two-vehicle collision in Las Vegas occurred in the early morning hours of July 5th, claiming two lives. Officers reported that one of the drivers fled the scene, making this a hit-and-run accident. It all happened at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Charleston Boulevard.

A blue SUV was traveling west on Charleston Boulevard at approximately 2:45 a.m., according to reports. At the same time, a white truck was heading south on Hollywood Boulevard. As the two vehicles went through the intersection, they collided, officers reported. Two males were reportedly inside the truck and one fled, following the collision.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene and found the damaged SUV in the middle of the intersection. They hurried to check for injured people, but instead, found both occupants of the SUV unresponsive. They did everything they could, but in the end, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, according to reports. The white pickup truck was on a sidewalk with the passenger side doors opened, officers reported.

Update: The two victims are Julian Torres, 18, and Ethan Velasquez, 19. Both young men were from Las Vegas.

Officers are looking for the driver who fled the scene and motorists were asked to use an alternate route as detectives investigated the scene. A coroner was called to the scene, as well and officers are working to not only find the fleeing suspect, but also working to understand what exactly happened at that Las Vegas intersection in the middle of the night, following the 4th of July.
