Clovis, CA (June 26, 2024) A collision between a pool service pickup truck and an SUV occurred in Clovis on Tuesday morning, June 25th. The crash left one person with significant injuries, according to reports. It happened at the intersection of Villa Avenue and Barstow Avenue and caused one vehicle to roll over, officers reported.
It was a typical morning in Clovis on Tuesday, June 25th. An SUV approached the intersection of Barstow Avenue and Villa Avenue. At the same time, a pool service pickup truck approached the same intersection. The two vehicles went through the intersection at the same time and collided, reports indicated. The force from the impact sent the pickup truck rolling onto its side, causing chlorine and muriatic acid to spill all over the roadway.
Officers with the Clovis Police Department arrived at the scene and found the SUV with major front-end damage. Several feet from the SUV laid the pickup truck, on its side with a pool of chemicals around it. Officers had to request street sweepers to come to the scene and clean up the chemicals, according to reports. Paramedics checked the vehicles’ occupants to see if anyone was in need of medical attention. They found the driver of the pickup truck with non-life-threatening injuries. He was loaded into an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment.
Officers investigated the collision and took statements from those involved as well as witnesses at the scene. It took crews, along with the street sweepers, hours to clean up the debris and chemicals from the scene. Tow trucks had to be called to remove both of the damaged vehicles from the intersection, officers reported. The investigation into this accident continues as officers work to determine what caused this accident and who is liable.
