Two-Vehicle Collision In North Hollywood Killed Emily Gonzales, Injured Another

Multi-vehicle collision on Highway 120 in Manteca leaves 1 injured.

Hollywood, CA (March 16, 2024) Tragedy struck north Hollywood early this morning when two vehicles collided at the intersection of Tujunga Avenue and Sherman Way. Sadly, one person didn’t survive the accident and another was seriously injured, according to officers. 25-year-old Emily Gonzales, a resident of Sun Valley, was fatally injured in the crash.

It was the middle of the night in Hollywood as a blue car and a black pickup truck approached the intersection. At approximately 1:40 a.m., one of the vehicles ran a red light and slammed into the other in the middle of the intersection, officers said. The tragic accident took place in front of a bus stop, according to first responders.

The Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department hurried to the scene in north Hollywood. They found the pickup truck and the car with severe damage. The air bags in the blue car deployed during the collision, reports indicated. Paramedics found one of the drivers, identified as Gonzales, deceased and, sadly, pronounced her dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to a hospital to receive treatment.

Officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in this deadly crash, but are continuing to investigate this accident. They are determined to figure out what exactly happened to cause this crash.
