Los Angeles, CA (July 21, 2024) A tragic accident occurred in the early hours of morning on July 21st, 2024, in the Jefferson Park area of Los Angeles, claiming one person’s life and leaving six others injured. It all happened around 3:20 a.m., near Arlington Avenue, according to reports.
Darkness covered the city of Los Angeles as vehicles moved along roadways, guided by street lights and head lights. The steady flow of traffic on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, in the Jefferson Park area, was about to be disrupted.
At about 3:30 a.m., California Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a solo vehicle crash in which a grey sedan crashed into the center divider wall. Soon other vehicles crashed at the scene creating a big pile-up of wrecked cars.
The California Highway Patrol quickly arrived at the scene, along with the Los Angeles Fire Department. They found the vehicles with major damage, sitting in the middle of the eastbound freeway. They rushed to the vehicles, prepared to give medical attention to anyone in need. Unfortunately, they found one person who had been killed in the collision. They were, sadly, pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics found six others who had sustained injuries in the collision. They were all transported to local hospitals in the Los Angeles area, via ambulances.
Update: Two of the injured victims were “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars Morphine Love Dion (27) and Kaos (30). Apparently, they were both riding in an Uber at the time of the crash. They were in town to attend RuPaul’s DragCon LA. Both confirmed on social media that they were seriously injured but recovering.
Officers began investigating the scene on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway. They continue to work this accident in an effort to determine what exactly happened that morning in the Jefferson Park area. They are also determined to figure out who was at fault for this fatal accident. Officers called tow trucks to the scene to remove the badly damaged vehicles and crews worked as quickly as they could to remove all of the glass and debris from the freeway, as well.
