Rancho Cucamonga, CA (February 7, 2024) As the sun set in the city of Rancho Cucamonga on January 31st, a life was taken at the intersection of 6th Street and Hermosa Avenue. 34-year-old Brenda Kimberly Jimenez, a passenger, was killed in a two-vehicle collision. Jimenez was with her boyfriend and father on their way to a memorial service, family members said.
Just before 5:30 p.m., a black Nissan Rogue, driven by 37-year-old Estevan Amador, was heading south on Hermosa Avenue. The Nissan slowed down to make a left turn onto 6th Street as a black Mercedes CLS 550 approached. It was heading north on Hermosa Avenue, nearing the intersection. As the Nissan turned, the two cars crashed in the intersection, officers said. The force from the collision caused the Nissan to then slam into a traffic control signal pole that was placed at the northeast corner of the intersection.
Paramedics and officers with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department hurried to the scene and found the intersection littered with debris and glass. They quickly checked vehicles in an attempt to give medical aid to anyone who needed it. They found the passenger of the Nissan, identified as Brenda Kimberly Jimenez, with life-threatening injuries. Devastatingly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brenda had two sons, Sebastian and Oliver, who must now face the world without their mother. The family has created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs for Brenda Jimenez. Any funds that are not used for funeral expenses will go towards Jimenez’s children.
