Garnet, CA (June 26, 2024) The community of Garnet was shocked to learn of a collision in their town that left one person injured. The two-vehicle crash occurred around 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of 20th Avenue and Mountain View Road, not far from Desert Hot Springs, officers reported. The Tuesday morning accident caused one car to flip over onto its roof.
It was early morning in the community of Garnet, a part of Riverside County, when two vehicles collided. According to the California Highway Patrol, one of the vehicles attempted to make a left turn onto 20th Avenue. As it did so, a vehicle behind it suddenly tried to pass the turning car. The two vehicles collided at the intersection, causing one of them to flip over onto its roof. The vehicles blocked the roadway following the collision.
The 911 call was received and the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene, sirens wailing. They found the two damaged vehicles, one of which was on its roof. They quickly checked the vehicles and found that one person had sustained injuries in the accident. When paramedics arrived, they loaded the victim into an ambulance and transported them to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.
Officers requested assistance in getting the overturned vehicle back on its wheels and removed from the scene. Detectives investigated the scene and are determined to figure out why this collision occurred. At this time, the investigation is said to be ongoing, according to reports. Crews worked to clean the debris from the roadway, following the initial investigation at the scene.
