Pleasant Hill, CA (June 12, 2024) A woman was seriously injured in a frightening hit-and-run on June 9 at about 2:07 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol. CHP Contra Costa was dispatched to the site of this two-car crash on I-680 southbound near Willow Pass Road.
Authorities discovered that the crash was caused by a yet-unknown male driver in a dark gray Acura TL. The man was driving southbound on I-680 at a high speed. Apparently, he was moving between lanes erratically before he lost control of his vehicle. This is when he crashed into the victim’s car.

The female victim was driving a BMW 320i with her dog in tow. Sadly, the woman sustained major injuries when the Acura crashed into her. Luckily, her dog companion was left unscathed, but it had to go to an animal shelter while the victim was transported to a hospital. Family members reportedly picked up the dog.
Reports also state that the driver of the Acura fled the scene of the crime on foot. Witnesses say they saw him heading south toward Homewood Suites, a hotel. This hotel’s address is 650 Ellinwood Way, Pleasant Hill, CA, 94523.
