Weaverville, CA (September 15, 2023) – A woman suffered major injury on Thursday, September 15th, due to a pedestrian accident on Highway 299 in Weaverville. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 12:51 p.m. near the U-Haul store on Ransom Road.
A vehicle struck the woman on the roadway under unknown circumstances. The victim was thrown by the impact, landing in the west side shoulder of Highway 299. According to reports she was still breathing but was critically injured. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Witnesses in the area reported that the vehicle that struck the victim failed to stop and assist the victim or cooperate with authorities. The vehicle may have been speeding when the accident occurred.
