SERRA MESA, CA (AUGUST 30, 2023): 32-year-old Yannira Rodriguez has been identified as the woman killed in a tragic wrong-way collision last weekend in Serra Messa.
Rodriguez was heading south on Interstate 15 in her Honda Fit when she was struck by a Infiniti QX30 traveling northbound in the wrong lanes. The collision occurred at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday near Aero Drive.

The Infiniti continued north, eventually striking another vehicle.
Paramedics had to extract Rodriguez from her crushed vehicle before she was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. A male occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hospital for major injures.
The driver of the Infiniti, only identified as a 25-year-old La Mesa man, was also transported to a hospital for injuries. His name nor condition has been released.
Authorities continue to investigate this wrong-way crash that tragically killed Yannira Rodriguez.
