SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 21, 2022) – A 22-year-old Antioch man was killed on the Bay Bridge by a DUI driver according to KTVU2 News.

The accident occurred Sunday morning around 3 a.m. when a 2007 Infinity M45, in which the 22-year-old was a rear passenger, slowed on the Bay Bridge, reportedly from possibly mechanical failure. The Infinity was rear-ended by a 2014 Nissan Frontier pickup truck.

California Highway Patrol officials say that the accident occurred on the west span of the Bay Bridge.

Four other passengers in the Infinity were injured, including a 21-year-old that suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Nissan was said to be a 36-year-old man who suffered some minor injuries as a result of the accident and was also taken to the hospital.

The Bay Bridge had all its westbound lanes closed after the crash, but were reopened by 5:20 a.m.
