Santa Ana, CA (August 4, 2023) Alfonso Alvarez, Vice President of the Santa Ana United School District Board of Education, was arrested for DUI after causing a collision in Santa Ana. The incident took place on Saturday, July 29th, around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Grand Street and Edinger Avenue, according to Officer Natalie Garcia.

The Santa Ana Police Department said they responded to a call from someone claiming they had been in an accident and the other driver seemed intoxicated. The department’s DUI Unit was sent, along with a patrol car, to the scene of the accident. Upon arrival, they discovered the intoxicated driver was Alvarez.
Officer Garcia told OC Independant that Alvarez admitted that the accident was his fault. No one was injured, but Alvarez was arrested and taken to Santa Ana Jail for booking.
