RIVERSIDE, CA (SEPTEMBER 9, 2023): 39-year-old Delwyn Randle was been arrested after operating an international box truck while under the influence and causing a fatal multi-vehicle collision.
At around 11:40 a.m., Randle crashed into a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado that was parked at a red light at Domenigoni Parkway and Leon Road, according to a CHP news release.

The Silverado then struck a 2022 BMW in front of it, and a Dodge Durango two lanes over was struck by debris from the collision. The box truck driven by Randle subsequently hit a light pole and a fire hydrant.
Two people in the BMW, the rear passenger identified as 25-year-old Israel Bermudez and the driver 32-year-old Paloma Casares, were declared dead at the scene.
A third person in the BMW suffered minor injuries, as did the driver of the Silverado. The occupants of the Dodge were uninjured.
In addition to the death and injuries, the box truck also caused major spillage of oil and diesel fuel, forcing the closure of Domenigoni Parkway.
Following the crash, Randle was arrested for felony DUI. The CHP states he will also be charged for the two deaths.
