Las Vegas, NV (August 5, 2024) A two-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon, August 3rd, claimed one man’s life, according to reports. The two vehicles collided at the intersection of South Lindell Road and West Desert Inn Road in Las Vegas. The deadly crash happened at approximately 4th:15 p.m., officers said, and left one man with fatal injuries.
It was just after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3rd, as vehicles traveled through Las Vegas. Officers reported that 27-year-old Nakira Pray was driving a 2021 Toyota Rav4 on Desert Inn Road, heading west. At the same time, 1992 Geo Metro, driven by a 68-year-old man, was heading south on Lindell Road, approaching the same intersection. The Toyota ran the red light at the intersection, crashing into the Geo Metro, officers reported.

The 911 calls began and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department quickly arrived at the scene. They found the two damaged vehicles in the middle of the intersection. Paramedics arrived and checked the occupants of both vehicles for injuries. They found the driver of the Geo Metro with life-threatening injuries, reports revealed. The man was placed in an ambulance and rushed to University Medical Center. The medical staff did everything within their power to save the victim, but his injuries were too severe. He eventually succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officers at the scene determined that Nakira Pray had been driving under the influence and arrested her at the scene. Pray now faces several charges, according to police officers. Tow trucks had to remove both damaged vehicles from the intersection and crews worked as quickly as the could to remove the glass and debris from the roadway, following this deadly collision.
