Huntington Beach, CA (Februrary 13, 2024) Sadness swept across Huntington Beach last week as another life was taken by a drunk driver. 55-year-old Arturo Becerril Rodriguez lost his life on Edinger Avenue on February 9th, because of a drunk driver, officers said. The community is still reeling from the shock of this senseless collision.
It was right around 9:30 p.m. as Rodriguez headed west on Edinger Avenue, not far from Edwards Street. He was driving a 2010 Toyota Prius and could see a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup coming up behind him on the road. The pickup was driving too fast and slammed into the back of the Prius.
The driver of the Chevy pickup was identified as 24-year-old Jyles Timothy Sellers. After rear-ending the back of the Prius at a high rate of speed, Sellers got out of his pickup and ran away on foot, authorities said.
