Victorville, CA (July 11, 2024) It was just after 7:00 p.m. on July 7th when a DUI driver caused a multi-vehicle collision in Victorville. The accident occurred at the intersection of Hesperia Road and Nisqualli Road, according to reports. The collision ended with several people sustaining injuries and 49-year-old Alejandro Sanchez being placed under arrest for DUI.
Alejandro Sanchez was driving a 2023 silver Kia Forte on Sunday evening, July 7th, when he lost control. He was not far from the AMPM gas station, according to reports, when he collided with two other vehicles. A blue 2006 Scion tC ended up on the sidewalk, following the collision. A 2001 Chevy Tahoe rolled onto its side, following the collision, officers reported. It was blocking all eastbound lanes.
The Victorville Police Department arrived at the scene and found the three damaged vehicles. They found several people in the three vehicles with injuries, according to police reports. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported injured people to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. The extent of the injuries is still unknown at this time. However, officers discovered that Sanchez was intoxicated at the time of the accident. He was taken into custody and faces DUI charges.
A tow truck was called to the scene to remove damaged vehicles from the roadway, officers reported. Detectives gathered evidences and are working to understand exactly what happened at this Victorville intersection. The Victorville Police Department is leading this investigation.
