Fresno, CA (August 14, 2023) A police officer in Fresno was controlling traffic after an accident when he was injured by a driver. The police officer was at the intersection of Clovis Avenue and Garland Avenue when the collision occurred.

The officer’s police car was being used to block traffic and the officer was standing near the vehicle, attempting to control traffic. Another vehicle was traveling south on Clovis and hit the police car that was blocking traffic. The force of the impact pushed the police car into the officer.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for moderate injuries, according to kmph.com. The driver of the vehicle that hit the police car was arrested at the scene DUI suspicion.
