Santa Cruz, CA (July 25, 2023) Steven Foster, 31, was seriously injured and 34-year-old Steven Taggert, from Boulder Creek, was killed in a collision on Highway 9 on Sunday. Taggert was driving a red 2003 Toyota Tundra with Foster as the passenger. The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree with such force that the truck overturned.

California Highway Patrol arrived around 5:08 p.m. Taggert and Foster both suffered significant injuries in the accident and were taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Sadly, Taggert had suffered severe head trauma and died at the hospital from his injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, but alcohol use is suspected.
