Oakley, CA (August 4, 2023) Oakley Police Department responded to a call on Thursday night in which a vehicle crashed into a residential home. The incident occurred at 8:29 p.m. and authorities say the driver was suspected of driving while under the influence.
Oakley Police Department and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District arrived on the scene at O’Hara Avenue and E. Home Avenue. They found a pickup in a yard after colliding with a house. The driver of the vehicle was injured so officers called for a medical helicopter, but as they treated the patient, they decided that ground support would be best, according to Oakley Sgt. Jeff Solomon.

Witnesses in the area spoke with officers about the collision. Solomon said that they were told the driver was doing donuts and driving recklessly in the intersection before hitting a parked car. The vehicle then hit a fence, another pickup, and then crashed into the house.
Only the driver of the pickup was injured and the Oakley Police Department is investigation the incident. Solomon told Contra Costa News that they were looking into reckless driving and DUI.
