Lompoc, CA (September 9, 2024) 65-year-old North Carolina resident, Dalton T. Myers, was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident near Lompoc, California, on Saturday afternoon, September 7th, 2024. The fatal accident occurred on Jalama Road, about 2 miles from Highway 1, around 12:20 p.m., officers reported.
Myers ended up losing control of his motorcycle while riding along Jalama Road that day. He went off the roadway and then down an embankment, before coming to a stop at the bottom. Officers reported that Myers landed about 100 feet from the roadway. A bystander saw the accident and couldn’t just drive away. They called 911 and ran down the embankment to Myers. Officers said that the bystander was performing CPR on Myers when they arrived at the scene. Sadly, Myers did not survive the fall and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.

Detectives gathered evidence and are working to determine what exactly happened to cause Myers to suddenly lose control. The motorcycle had to be healed up the embankment and loaded onto a flatbed truck and crews picked up the pieces of debris that remained at the scene. This fatal accident remains under investigation, according to reports.
