Bakersfield, CA (May 4, 2024) Thursday evening in Bakersfield took a dangerous turn when a motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle. The accident left the two riders on the motorcycle with serious injuries, according to reports. The Central Bakersfield crash happened at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Chester Avenue.
On the evening of May 2nd, two people rode along Chester Avenue on a motorcycle. A white passenger vehicle was also driving through this area of Central Bakersfield. For reasons still unknown, the motorcycle slammed into the passenger, front side of the vehicle. Both riders on the motorcycle were thrown and landed with great force on the hard roadway, causing serious injuries to both victims. Debris and liquid covered the road and the passenger vehicle was left dented, wish a busted headlight and damaged fender.
The Bakersfield Police Department hurried to the scene as soon as they receive the call. They arrived on Chester Avenue and found the motorcycle lying on its side against the white vehicle. A puddle of liquid had formed and debris littered the scene. Paramedics rushed to the tow motorcyclists who were lying on the ground and discovered that they had both sustained serious injuries in the accident. Both victims were loaded into an ambulance and rushed to a local hospital to receive treatment. They are expected to make full recoveries, officers reported.
Chester Avenue had to be closed at 4th Street while officers investigated the collision and gathered any evidence they could find. They also spoke with witnesses and took statements from those involved. They are determined to learn what caused this crash and also hope to determine who was at fault.
