San Diego, CA (May 14, 2024) 19-year-old Vista resident, Christopher Hendrickson, was tragically killed in a collision on Thursday, May 9th, in San Diego. The devastating accident took place right around 1:00 p.m. on Hacienda Drive. Officials reported that the accident occurred just east of College Boulevard and south of State Route 78 and also involved a Subaru hatchback.
Hendrickson was riding his Suzuki two-wheeled motorcycle along Hacienda Drive on Thursday afternoon. For reasons still unknown, the motorcycle collided with a Subaru hatchback in the 200 block of Hacienda Drive. The force from the impact threw Hendrickson from the motorcycle, which slid across the roadway for a few feet before stopping.
Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene within minutes and found the damaged vehicle, the mangled motorcycle and Hendrickson in the middle of the road. They rushed to Hendrickson’s side, ready to give him life-saving treatment and rushed him to Tri-City Medical Center in an ambulance. The medical staff at the hospital did everything within their power to help Hendrickson, but his injuries were too severe. He eventually succumbed to them and, with heavy hearts, they pronounced him dead at the hospital.
The driver of the Subaru was did not receive any injuries in this collision, but remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Officers are still investigating this collision and are hoping to discover what actually led up to this fatal motorcycle accident. They are also determined to figure out who was at fault for this crash.
