Apple Valley, CA (October 25, 2024) A collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck occurred on Thursday morning in Apple Valley, leaving the motorcyclist with serious injuries. The collision occurred at the intersection of Catalina Road and Apple Valley Road, at approximately 8:45 a.m.
A blue and white Ducati was approaching the intersection of Catalina Road and Apple Valley Road on Thursday morning. At the same time, a gold Toyota Tacoma also approached the intersection. The two vehicles collided, ejecting the rider from the motorcycle. One of the vehicles slammed into a street light, knocking the light fixture to the ground.
Authorities arrived at the scene and found the rider on the ground with life-threatening injuries. They requested an air ambulance at the scene. The rider was taken to a landing pad at St. Mary’s Medical Center by ambulance. From there, they were airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center to receive emergency treatment. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The motorcycle had to be hauled from the scene and crews with Southern California Edison (SCE) cleaned up the debris that was on the roadway. Detectives continue to work this accident in an attempt to uncover what caused this collision, as well as which driver was responsible.
