Irvine, CA (August 3, 2023) A motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries after crashing in Irvine on Thursday morning. Irvine Police Sgt. Karie Davies said the crash happened around 10:20 a.m. on eastbound Alton Parkway, just west of Jamboree Road.
The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old male, was riding on a Yamaha, when he hit a curb. This is when he began to lose control of the motorcycle. He then hit a hole in the road, causing him to completely lose control of the motorcycle. He slid down the road and hit an idling Toyota Prius that was sitting at a red light. The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Irvine Police Department pointed out that this is the second motorcycle collision that has ended in a fatality in the city of Irvine in two days. It is still unknown why the motorcyclist drifted and hit the curb, which started the chain of events leading up to his death.
No one else was injured in this accident.
