Long Beach, CA (September 9, 2024) A 911 call about a motorcycle accident was received around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th, 2024. The accident occurred between a motorcycle and another vehicles at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and 45th Street, according to reports. Sadly, the motorcyclist did not survive the accident.
A 2003 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling north on Long Beach Boulevard on Saturday night. At the same time, a 2021 Honda CR-V was heading south on the same road. Reports indicated that the Honda merged into the left turning lane and began turning onto 45th Street. They turned right into the path of the northbound motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the Honda, according to reports.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist on the ground. They rushed to his side, ready to begin life-saving treatment. The victim was placed in an ambulance and rushed to a local hospital to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries. Sadly, the rider later succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the Honda was also injured in the collision and transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers reported that the driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities following this fatal accident. Crews worked as quickly as they could to clean up the scene, following the initial investigation.
