Santa Maria, CA (January 19, 2024) A motorcyclist, identified as 57-year-old Lonell Oliver from Lompoc, is dead after being hit by multiple vehicles on State Route 1 in Santa Maria. This horrible accident happened just before 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17th, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
It was approximately 9:25 p.m. as Oliver rode his motorcycle south on Highway 1 in the dark. Officers are still not certain what exactly happened on Highway 1 that night, but as Oliver approached State Route 135, he collided with another vehicle. Initial reports indicate that he was actually struck by more than one vehicle that night. Perhaps they didn’t see Lonell Oliver until it was too late. At this time, no one knows.

Oliver was thrown from his motorcycle and was found on the ground when emergency personnel arrived at the scene. Paramedics hurried to give life-saving measures, but Oliver was, sadly, pronounced dead at the scene.
