Redway, CA (July 2, 2024) Late Saturday evening, a tragic motorcycle collision occurred that left a person deceased.
At about 10:35 p.m., Humboldt Communication Center answered a 9-1-1 call regarding a motorcycle that had crashed on Redwood Drive. Officers and emergency medical services were quickly dispatched to the scene.
When they arrived they found the motorcycle rider, whose name was Raul Villalobos. He was a 34-year-old man from Eureka. He was rushed to Jerold Phelps Medical Center in Garberville, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.
California Highway Patrol reports that for unknown reasons, Villalobos’ motorcycle had left the roadway and struck an embankment. He was not wearing a helmet.
An investigation into this crash is still ongoing. Authorities are not sure what caused Villalobos to lose control of his bike.
