San Francisco, CA (October 3, 2023) A woman was seriously injured on Monday night after a hit-and-run accident threw her under a Cruise car, where she became trapped. The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at Market Street and 5th Street, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Officers stated that the woman was struck by a hit-and-run driver and the force of the impact threw her into the path of a Cruise robotaxi car, where she became trapped. The San Francisco Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to lift the car and free the woman trapped underneath.
The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with “multiple traumatic injuries,” according to the San Francisco Fire Department.
