Long Beach, CA (October 15, 2023) 1 person was killed and 6 others injured when a vehicle struck a group of pedestrians in a crosswalk in Long Beach on Saturday night. The Long Beach Fire Department said the collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Aquarium Way and Shoreline Drive.

Authorities said the pedestrians were crossing the street in a crosswalk when the vehicle hit them. It then went on to collide with several vehicles before stopping, according to authorities. It happened in an intersection near Pike outlets and the Aquarium of the Pacific.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene and 4 people were rushed to local hospitals with serious injuries. Another person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the 6th person declined treatment.
The driver remained at the scene and authorities are investigating to determine what exactly happened.
