15-Year-Old Girl Struck, Killed In Ridgecrest Hit-And-Run

Ridgecrest, CA (October 29, 2024) The community of Ridgecrest awoke to devastating news on Sunday, October 27th. A 15-year-old girl had been struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Las Flores Avenue and found lying in the road. Reports indicated that the fatal accident occurred around 2:00 a.m.

It was 2 o’clock in the morning when a 15-year-old girl walked along Las Flores Avenue in the dark. Suddenly, a vehicle traveling down the road struck the girl at a high rate of speed. The impact threw the girl in the air before she landed on the roadway. The vehicle fled the scene, reports indicated.

Police officers with the Ridgecrest Police Department arrived at the scene and found the 15-year-old girl lying on the roadway. Paramedics and fire fighters with the Kern County Fire Department, did everything they could to try and save the girl, but her injuries were just too severe. Despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries in the middle of the road. Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.

Officers began investigating the accident in an attempt to uncover what exactly happened. They have reported that the investigation is ongoing.
