Novato, CA (October 23, 2024) An 8-year-old child was walking in Novato when they were struck by an adult on a bicycle, officers reported. It happened at Second Street and Grant Avenue, just before 10:00 p.m. The rider, 22-year-old Anthony Edward Mowry fled the scene, but was later located and placed under arrest. The child was left with moderate injuries, according to reports.
It was Friday night in Novato as an 8-year-old child walked near Second Street and Grant Avenue. At approximately 9:50 p.m., a man riding a bicycle approached the child. Fore reasons that remain unknown, the bike hit the child, knocking them down. The bicyclist kept riding, leaving the child behind with injuries, reports indicated. The 8-year-old boy was not only hurt, but also scared, following this incident.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the child on the ground with non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported the child to a hospital in the area to receive treatment, where the 8-year-old is expected to make a full recovery.

However, officers reviewed surveillance footage from area businesses the following morning, and were able to locate the suspect. 22-year-old Novato resident, Anthony Edward Mowry, was placed under arrest and booked into Marin County Jail. He faces felony hit-and-run charges as well as a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
