Oceanside, CA (December 10, 2023) 53-year-old Adrian Wilburne, from Hempstead, was struck and killed by a vehicle in Oceanside on Saturday morning, December 9th, according to authorities. The accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Merrick Road near Oceanside Road.

According to the Oceanside Police Department, Wilburne was crossing Merrick Road when he was struck. Officers arrived at the scene and found Wilburne on the ground. Paramedics rushed to give aid, but found that he had sustained serious head trauma. Sadly, Wilburne was pronounced dead at the scene and the medical examiner later identified the victim as Adrian Wilburne.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police officers following the collision. Officers questioned the driver, as well as witnesses, and are working diligently to try and determine what exactly happened to cause this fatal pedestrian accident.
