Exposition Park, CA (July 2, 2024)
In a wildly tragic chain of events, a baby is reportedly in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle.
It happened late Monday night around 11:58 p.m. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene at West Martin Luther King Boulevard and Halldale Avenue.
The circumstances surrounding the crash have not been released. The only details available state that the baby ran into the road while its guardians were not looking. It was then struck by a red Pontiac sedan.
Apparently, the driver of the vehicle that hit the baby stayed on scene and cooperated with the police. One person was taken into custody, but reports do not indicate who this person was or why they were arrested. It’s possible they were not even involved in the collision and were apprehended for other reasons. Other reports state that the parents of the child were not arrested and neither was the driver of the vehicle, so it’s unclear who the third party is at this time.
The baby was taken to the hospital with a head injury.
