Oakland, CA (October 10, 2023) 41-year-old Cesar Ramos was struck and killed by a train in Oakland on Friday, according to the Alameda County Coroner’s Office. The accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. on Friday, October 6th.

The Amtrak Capital Corridor train was headed to San Jose on Friday morning in the area of 37th Avenue and San Leandro Street in the Fruitvale District. Authorities reported that Ramos was walking on the railroad tracks when he was struck by the train. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene to help, however no one else was injured in this collision.
